How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching in the Jackson
Township Public School District since 1994.
What subjects and grade levels
have you taught?
I have taught at many grade levels (from high school to kindergarten) and have instructed at workshops for other teachers. Computers, business, literacy, and math, are a few of the many assignments that I have had.
What do you like most about
teaching?
The students! I have fond memories
of each and every one.
How did you learn about using
the WWW and making web pages?
I am also a student. With the advancement in technology changing so rapidly, continued study is needed. I began using the WWW for research on education. Soon I made my first web page. I later began a company (Shore
Advantage) and designed pages for over 50 businesses. The company grew too big for me and I sold it in Sept, 2001.
Are you married? Do you have any
children?
Yes! My wife's name is Elaine. We were married in Cancun Mexico. We have two wonderful children, Jason and Kristina.
When did you graduate from high
School?
I graduated from Jackson Memorial High School, Jackson NJ in 1982.
What other work have you done?
Just before beginning my teaching career, I had worked in New York City negotiating contracts with the School Construction Authority for an abatement company. Before that, I worked many jobs during my school years (such as developing land, installing cable television, and working for various tradesmen.)
Anything else you can
tell me about your teaching career?
I
have worked as a district mentor teacher and cooperating teacher to
assigned new staff members and student teachers. During the summer of
2000/ 2001, I was selected to and participated in the Goals 2000 Professional
Development Program where I learned about the many needs local companies
have. This information helped me to look at how I could improve instruction
in our classroom. Now, I sometimes conduct workshops for other teachers
and focus on our classroom and the use of technology. I am always looking
for innovative techniques to add to the quality of instruction. I love
working in the classroom and learning about interesting things.
